My name is Melanie and I am a Peace Corps Volunteer in Indonesia. I will be teaching high school English in East Java until June 2014.

This is my best K-Pop star interpretation at our In-Service Training (IST) 2012 Halloween Party.

I’ve been hesitant on keeping a blog before because I value writing, and I value my word. Before, I felt that keeping a blog would tie me to every statement I typed out, leaving me unable to change my mind. That is unrealistic. Like life, writing is a fluid activity. It comes in waves of inspiration, based on how I perceive and feel about anything and everything. For this reason, I reserve the right to change my mind about anything I write here at any time.

If you find typos on the blog, I’m mortified. Sometimes I update with my phone, and auto-correct hates me.
